2024 Impact Report
2024 has been a year of growth for Thrive Impact Fund! Despite the economic uncertainty felt in Canadian communities, Thrive made a number of investments in local and impact organizations. Our investments made a difference in arts and culture, toxic product replacement, affordable housing, and food security. We also launched a bridge financing product to assist organizations in accessing working capital during times of tight cash flow.
2025 will be our third year in operations. We will continue to build on our foundation to address capital gaps in a quickly changing and uncertain world.
2023 Impact Report
Thrive Impact Fund had quite the year in 2023! We ended 2022 with momentum, having made $1.5 M in investments and conducting a steady and successful raise.
In 2023, we focused on market building by expanding the Social Enterprise Conversations to more communities across Vancouver Island and hosting a sold-out Connect Money Impact event in Kelowna. We continued to engage with investors and raise capital, while supporting the social finance ecosystem through regular presentations (webinars), convenings and conversations.
2022 Impact Report
Thrive Impact Fund enjoyed its first full year of operations in 2022. During this year, the fund grew to $2.4M in investment, had 77 inquiries and deployed $1.5M to seven social enterprises.
We utilize our extensive impact and entrepreneurial experience and deep networks to identify and support investees, helping chart their path towards success. Our rapidly changing world needs innovative and resilient impact enterprises, and Thrive Impact Fund connects values-aligned investors with impact organizations, delivering high-impact and steady financial returns.
2021 Impact Report
As outlined in our impact measurement framework, we collect data alongside several metrics and have drawn upon IRIS+ and the SDGs to standardize as much as possible for overarching metrics. The key areas of data collection are:
- Application process
- Loan agreements
- Quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Quarterly investee reporting
- Annual investee reporting
As a BC Benefit Corporation, Thrive Impact Fund will post annual reports outlining the public benefits provided through our investments.
How We Invest
We provide patient and flexible loans to organizations with solid revenue generation and growth opportunities.
We aim to fill capital gaps and partner with other investors and financial institutions whenever possible.
We look for investments that strengthen organizations and align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals:
As any place-based fund, we will target priority SDGs addressing our communities’ most important challenges. Six key SDGs have been identified to direct our investments.
