FAQs

Thrive Impact Fund invests in non-profits, co-operatives, and for-profit social enterprises based in or serving BC that generate positive social, environmental, or cultural benefits.

Thrive Impact Fund finances organizations with at least a one-year track record of proven earned revenue. Existing revenue streams are necessary to ensure the repayment of our loans. Grants or angel investment may be better suited to support your start-up phase.

We believe in financing entire projects, and we know that organizations need capital to purchase assets and equipment as well as day-to-day operations. With that perspective, Thrive Impact Fund’s financing includes working capital to cover your expert service costs, staff expenses, inventory, etc. Expenses like these are eligible for financing.

Thrive Impact Fund is an impact investment fund which provides debt instruments to investees in the form of bridge financing, term loans, and revenue-based financing. These financial tools are tailored to the investee’s projected growth profile and repayment capacity, focusing on shared success.

Impact sector organizations often face an inability to provide the collateral and/or guarantees required to access financing. Thrive Impact Fund is a risk-tolerant partner and does not ask for personal guarantees. We believe that the repayment capacity of an investee relies upon matching the right financial tools to each project and providing hands-on support to support success.

The application fee is $250. If the loan is approved, there is a drawdown fee and a documents fee to cover legal costs.

What Our Investees Say

“We are excited to work with the Thrive Impact Fund and are appreciative of how collaborative the investment process is. I am particularly looking forward to learning from a group of purpose-driven businesses as part of the cohort of investee organizations. We know we’re working with an organization that understands what social enterprises need to grow, and are working towards creating a strong ecosystem of like-minded entrepreneurs.”

“The investment from Thrive has been a game-changer for us as we grow our social enterprise non-profit in the environmental scene. It’s not just about the financing that is helping us grow sustainably and supports us as we scale up. Coaching and support from the team and its mentors have been pivotal in helping us identify pain points, prompting us to think bigger and more bravely, and have been the push we need to make a big difference in water monitoring.”

Kat Kavanagh, Water Rangers
“The Thrive Impact Fund team helped us understand all the ins and outs of the importance of our impact in the community, environment, and economy. Thrive Impact Fund supports impact-focused companies like Nyoka Design Labs access the type of financing that is often only available to later stage companies.
